Alles, was wir über Maßschuhe und den "perfekten Chelsea Boot" wissen, ist in diesen Schuh geflossen. Warum haben wir einen Chelsea Boot als zweites Modell in dieser Linie ausgewählt? Weil er der perfekte Winterschuh ist. Für's Büro, für Weihnachten, zum schmalen Anzug, zur Jeans. Und weil er so verdammt einfach anzuziehen ist.
Unser Wholecut Chelsea ist aus einem Stück Leder gefertigt und kommt daher fast ohne Nähte aus. Ideal für Damen und Herren. Kein Schnickschnack, keine Pompons, keine unnötigen Ziernähte - nur die Schönheit eines perfekt geformten Schuhs. Die einzige Extravaganz, die wir uns hier gestattet haben, ist der leicht abgeschrägte Absatz - eine kleine Hommage an unsere ewige Liebe zu Cowboystiefeln. Elegant in seiner Schlichtheit, mit dem Fokus auf das Wesentliche:
Kann ich darin vom High Tea bei Blakes zum Abendessen im Firehouse gehen?
Komme ich mit ihnen endlich als ernstzunehmender Kunde in der Savile Row durch?
Und sind diese Boots wirklich "made for walking", wie Nancy Sinatra das versprochen hat?
Die Antwort lautet natürlich: Ja. Und mit der richtigen Pflege auch ein Leben lang.
Machart: Der KLH Chelsea Boot wird auf einem von uns entworfenen Leisten in einer kleinen italienischen Familienmanufaktur gefertigt. Die Sohle ist mit einer verdeckten Risslippe versehen, dank derer die Sohle von unten ihre perfekte glatte Oberfläche erhält, obwohl sie von Hand vernäht ist. Das sorgt nicht nur für eine optisch schöne Lösung, sondern bedeutet auch, dass der oder die TrägerIn nicht nach weniger Zeit die Naht auf der Unterseite der Sohle durchläuft. Die Schuhe werden von Hand rahmengenäht und gedoppelt. Jeder einzelne der ungefähr 250 Stiche pro Schuh wird also einzeln mit einer Ahle von Hand gestochen und vernäht. Die einzelnen Stiche der Doppelnaht sieht man an der Oberseite der Sohle, die ca. 70 Stiche der Rahmennaht kann man nur als absoluter Kenner nach Jahren des Tragens ertasten. Der Steg, der die Stiche der Rahmennaht hält, wird bei diesem Chelsea Boot wie bei den Maßschuhen aus der Brandsohle geschnitten. Eine so aufwändige Verarbeitungsart ist außerhalb der Welt der Maßschuhe in Deutschland einzigartig und entspricht unserem Anspruch, dem oder der TrägerIn einen Schuh zu bauen, der ein Leben lang getragen werden kann.
