Wir wollten schon lange den perfekten Oxford entwickeln. Warum? Weil er der Klassiker ist. Er ist das am häufigsten angefragte Modell in unserer Maßschuhlinie. Er kann fast zu jedem Anlass getragen werden. Und er sieht sensationell aus zum Anzug, zur Jeans, nach einer ordentlichen Politur zum Smoking - ja, sogar zu Lederhosen.
Aber: Ein Oxford kann bisweilen auch ein klein wenig fad sein. Deshalb wird das geschulte Auge bemerken, dass wir den KLH Oxford mit einigen Details versehen haben, die ihn zu etwas Besonderem machen: Wir haben auf die typische Vorderkappe verzichtet, was ihm ein stromlinienförmiges Aussehen verleiht. Wir haben den Leisten überarbeitet, seine Kanten stärker betont, um ihm - nun ja - etwas Kante zu geben. Wir haben ihm eine minimalistische Form gegeben, die etwas spitzer als üblich zuläuft und in ihrer Schlichtheit besonders elegant ist. Kein Schnickschnack, kein Tamtam - nur die Schönheit eines perfekt geformten Schuhs. Die einzige optische Extravaganz, die wir uns bei all unseren RTW-Schuhen gestatten, ist der leicht abgeschrägte Absatz - eine kleine Hommage an unsere ewige Liebe zu Cowboystiefeln.
Mit der richtigen Pflege hält dieser Schuh ein Leben lang. Er wird von Hand rahmengenäht und gedoppelt. Jeder einzelne der ungefähr 250 Stiche pro Schuh wird also einzeln mit einer Ahle von Hand gestochen und vernäht. Die einzelnen Stiche der Doppelnaht sieht man an der Oberseite der Sohle, die ca. 70 Stiche der Rahmennaht kann man nur als absoluter Kenner nach Jahren des Tragens ertasten. Der Steg, der die Stiche der Rahmennaht hält, wird bei diesem Oxford wie bei Maßschuhen aus der Brandsohle geschnitten. Eine so aufwändige Verarbeitungsart ist außerhalb der Welt der Maßschuhe in Deutschland einzigartig und entspricht unserem Anspruch, dem oder der TrägerIn einen Schuh zu bauen, der ein Leben lang getragen werden kann.
